Mosaic sessions for 2023/4

These sessions are your opportunity to give yourself some quality time exercising your creative energy, on your own or with friends.

My workshops are little moments of indulgence that please the eyes and mind. Become lost in beautiful, high quality materials and the calming, mindful and beautiful process of making with tesserae. I provide a relaxed and light spirited making environment, for all art and craft enthusiasts.

Learn the Art of Mosaic 250

 

Day Session Information

Bespoke one day mosaic workshops for 1-4 persons, your choice, your group of friends. 

This bespoke day or split day session, is designed to give a small group of friends or family an opportunity to learn the skills of mosaic art, when you want to learn. I will teaching you how to create a mosaic artwork, from designing through to finished artwork. 

This session/s is yours to develop to suit your creative flare and abilities. Working individually or as a team to create for interior or exterior, to begin a project or make a one off artwork.

Your mosaic/s can be 2 or 3 dimensional, incorporate techniques of metal manipulation to create height and extra dimension to your mosaic, adding extra intrigue and exaggerated movement, if you desire. This technique is featured in my mosaic work.

Bringing your design idea/s will help me understand your visual aesthetic choices. ie colour preference or reference material.  Please feel free to contact me in advance about your creative ideas.

*This package can work well for those who want to create but might need extra support with cutting tiles due to challenging dexterity or age, young or older.

Details of Session

Venue - Artists Studio, Pill, Newport NP20 2JL sited in Advanced Electrical's yard

Date - to be agreed 

Participants - 1-4  This session can work well for those who want to create but might need extra support with cutting tiles.

Duration -  6 hours, 10am-5pm

Cost- £250 (deposit of £50) + £5 materials cost per person 

Materials - Wide choice of stained glass, glass mosaic and ceramic tiles. Lead. Selection of slate and board substrates.

Outcome - Finished mosaic made from a choice of substrate materials and a wide choice of stained glass, glass mosaic and ceramic.  Sometimes a mosaic might have to be grouted at home, I will give you all you need to complete this, along with a lesson in grouting before you go.

 Party on Mosaic 330

Lovely, light hearted taster experience into the fun of mosaic making.

This day session is designed for events such as children's parties, Hen’s or other special gatherings where you want your guests to have a fun and a light hearted introduction into the process of mosaic art. This day session is suitable for all abilities, as I will guide everyone through the process of mosaic art. Designs will be available for inspiration.

Session Outcome - Beautifully finished mosaic in the style of either, 4 coasters or a 6 " square mosaic with hanging fixing.

Venue - To be Booked and paid for by ‘Party’ organiser

Date - To be arranged

Participants - Max 8   Age 8 + (younger will need parental support at all times)

Duration - 4 hours

Materials - Ceramic and mixed glass 

Cost - £330 including all materials and travel ( extra travel costs may apply over 25 miles)
